Sharing Some Kindergarten Experiences of My Child

          As my child ended his pre- school experiences in his centre, as one of those parents watching the journey of these four year old kids, I was also filled with pride, extreme joy, gratitude and satisfaction  as my child finished his kindergarten days.

          As a parent, it is my joy to share some of the highlights of my kid's journey this year. One of those activities on which the children enjoyed so much was their exploration of the writing table area. It was on this activity that they made learnings and fun on letters and on frequency words.

          What was also striking in their journey was the using of the choice self and also to be respectful on how to care for the equipment. The Centre also has a dramatic play area and the kids had the chance to explore it. Then later on this year, they had some Christmas focused activities and just by watching a part of these activities in school, I had no doubt that indeed, the kids had a great time and many moments of bonding with each other.

          Hence, it is with so much joy that I express my gratitude to all the staff of the pre- school of my son and with this opportunity, for sure they became instruments in moulding the character of my son and the other kids. 

Some Points To Ponder

           As we end this month of November, allow me to share with you some insights into these thoughts to ponder which I believe have significant impact on our lives. Everyday we learn from our experiences and interactions with people and things. One good thing in life though that these are free and available everywhere but sad to note that many among us fail to fulfil this task due to our other concerns.

Anyone, here are points to ponder and my reflections on them:

" There's no sense aiming for a goal with no arrow in your bow."

          Goals are pertinent in our life yet we also need to equip ourselves with the necessary tools and resources so as to reach them. As mentioned beforehand, our everyday learnings allow us to grow better as a person and through this, our readiness to face the future squarely is attainable. Hindrances will come along the way but if we are determined enough to attain our goals, then we are also ready to face both yin and yang of life.

"The surest way to gain respect is to earn it by conduct."

          Much agreeable to me and I believe it is related to what they say that love begets love thus if we sow beautiful things to others then we can also expect to receive similar things on the process. If we treat others with dignity and honour then surely others will also endow us those two. 

"It's not the load that breaks you down, it's the way you carry it."

         What is  essential to this point is that we must know how to handle and carry ourselves in all times, both in good and bad times, in smooth or rough sailing moments, in bad or god condition. At the outset, we should be the first ones who know exactly ourselves including our dynamics, volitions, weaknesses, likes and dislikes, etc.. and with this self- knowledge, we therefore are knowledgeable enough to handle those varying life chapters.

How to Organise One's Day

          While thinking about what to blog, I tried to reflect on all my activities today and I realised that not just once this day that I just sit idly and hopping from one thing to the other. To cut it short, some time this day, I was not sure what to spend with my time and my energy. 

         Hence, I wonder if how many out there are also like me....that at a certain time, you also just sitting idly and wondering what to do with one's time. It is somehow a given fact that there are really instances we just don't know what to do with our time.

         Priorities are very essential in our life. I have mentioned it on my previous post before with my other blog that we need to constantly identify and hold on to our long time and short time priorities. We need to identify what are those we treasure most in life. Though I believe that they (priorities) may differ from me to you but I know so well that our respective families take the primary place among them.

         Hence, before going to rest, let us try to look back each day and check if we have been faithful to our priorities for the day. 

                                       

Today's Modern Age: Is it a Help in Self- Growth or Not?

          As I witness everyday's unfolding, the more that I come to think about life as becoming more complicated nowadays. And aside from that, this also tends to become more damaging to human relationships as others would think of. 

          However as I reflect on my own environment, I could sense that it's either positive or negative and it relies much on each person on how then he/she welcomes all these latest developments. Like for example, the various forms of social media networks that come out nowadays first and foremost the worldwide popular facebook. Consequently, the world tends to become a global village. The problem before of loved ones being far from one another is now answered by these social plaforms.

          On the other hand, the risk of being over exposed to these modern social media platforms is also very alarming. If one will not be careful in dealing with them, the risk of losing human touch connections with the other loved ones nearby would be sacrificed. I would say that people need to mutually help one another so as to grow in self fulfilment and learn to avoid the negative complications  that could possibly come out in the use of these modern age networks. 

                                       

EVeryday Graces

          January is almost over and just like any other month, we indeed have lots of reasons to be thankful to all events we have on the course of this month. They become instruments for all of us to know deeper ourselves. What a wonderful feeling is it when we come to terms with ourselves.

          Self- realization is such a long and lifetime process. Since the moment when we were born up to the stage that we are now, it is undoubtedly the most wonderful part when we discover who we are. Consequently, our basic relationships are positively affected by this self discovery. Life's stages becomes overwhelming events and they add colors to our everyday living.

          However let us also constantly look back on those turning points in our life. Some of those events were challenging indeed that they have caused us so much pain and tribulations. However, when we courageously hurdled them and emerged triumphant, we then feel that we have outgrown those baggages and leave them behind.

          Hence, let us free ourselves from the prone to reliance, instead, we take all our everyday graces to the top and with them, we will become free and victorious.

                                     

Share One's Kindness Deep Within

           Another week is almost over. And with all the events and activities that has been happening this week, mixed emotions came into my mind and my heart. Relieved and joy for the cool and wonderful events I had throughout the week and sadness as well as helplessness upon seeing the tragedy with such an enormous degree that befell my beloved country the Philippines.

          Thousands of people were left homeless and thousands were dead as an aftermath of  raging Typhoon Haiyan. No one expected to have such a huge losses to life and properties and no one ever desires to be in that misery. You can feel the pain, hunger, meaningless, hopelessness etc from all the expressions on the victims' faces.

          What becomes consoling is when people of all races, denominations, status and others join hands together to uplift the plight of the victims. From the government up to countries like US, UK, Canada, Australia, Israel, China, South Korea, and others, they have extended their resources such as money, food, medicine, personnel, shelter kits etc. to immediately give assistance to all victims.

         As the days go by, I am hoping that more people with kind hearts will continue to pour out help to the victims for their plight will surely last not just for days but maybe for months or years. You know that within you and me, there lies inside our hearts our goodness and kindness so that we can always think and remember the future of all the affected people.

                              


                                       

How Do We Welcome Each New Month In Our Life?

          November 2, 2013, Saturday- just seems to be another ordinary day for everyone....yet if you would like to check this out, this day is  the 2nd day of a new month, November. Are you aware of your own dynamics when it comes to welcoming each new month in your life? Or are you just like any typical person who seems not to care exactly what day or month of the year is it?

          Are you full of enthusiasm to start a new month? Are you full of regrets that you feel as if you did nothing special on the course of last month? At several stages of your life, you tend to measure things up either they're positive or the contrary by means of their consequences in your life. Yet if you take a closer look, a thing to become either positive or a negative is also a relative one. In fact, this could be different from one person to the other. What might be positive to you could be totally negative to the other person or vice versa.

          No matter what, the important thing is that you are happy and contented on every move that you take. As months go by, you also need to move on with your life. Leave all those worries behind as you embrace a new and a fresh start with the entry of another month. All the while, you will realize that life is a constant journey and to be triumphant on its every phase, you must learn to face all its trials and successes openly and squarely.

MY DAILY INSPIRATION

          Our household community recently held its regular get together. And the last time we met, it allowed me to renew my self and gain further strength to go on with life. My fellow brothers and sisters were so enthusiastic to share their own moments with their loved ones. Hearing all of these, I came into a realization how marvelous life is. Being with loved ones and with friends are favorable circumstances that enable me to go deeper of myself and look back if where am I leading to in my own journey.

          Having said that, I know beforehand that my time is spent positively unlike when I will merely spend it to just stay it in idleness thus allowing me to just dumb myself with nonsense things. I admire the sincerity of my brothers and sisters in our sharing for this openness allowed me to have a deep understanding of themselves and of myself.

          Treasured moments like this are nevertheless imprinted in my heart and when I go back to my own self, this will serve as one experience that I can recall and extract strength. "I gain my strength from my husband and he does the same. Yet at one time, I realized that it is actually from God whom I am getting this real strength to face this life's struggles and trials"- Thus came one of the realizations of our sister in the group. While listening to this, I continued closing my eyes and inaudibly murmured to myself, "she is not alone in that predicament for that is exactly what I'm doing in my own trial stages". 

          Yes, everything lies in my God. He is my  main source of strength aside from my family (wife and little boy). Knowingly or unknowingly, He consistently guides me into the right path. To boot, He draws everything in me. Without His guidance, I am nothing.  "In Jesus, and through the relationship He offers me, I find my hope…He is my strength — my peace, my purpose and my power.:-Sylene Mack- president-Transformed by Grace community.  Thus, I offer to Him everything in my life-my joys, my treasures, pains, aspirations etc. Going back to our community, I am so grateful to have encountered the bond of friendship with these people. And as we proceed with our respective journeys in life, may the guiding hand of our Divine Creator continue to inspire and mold us into persons whom He wanted us to be.

                                                         

LIFE IS A CONTINUING EDUCATION

          As I proceed with my life journey, I tried to reflect on past events of my life then realized that it is as if I am reading a book- in fact, my own book of life. With such reflection, I am so glad to be a participant of this life journey. Each day as I wake up, new learnings embrace me and they assist me to go on with my own personal development.

          Furthermore, I know that there is no limit and boundary over learnings. It only takes one's commitment to participate consistently in this journey that will make a consequent difference in his/her life. One noteworthy in life is when we share our various giftedness with each other. As you and me go on with our everyday learnings, we grow the more when we exchange life's wonderful stories.

          Allow me to share with you this wonderful quotation, " Self-education is, I firmly believe, the only kind of education there is."- Isaac Asimov. I totally agree with Isaac in this sentiment of his. As I enter each day, I start to learn new things that contribute colors to this journey. Many people have joined me in this journey, first and foremost my wife Yanyan and our little boy, Kurt and I am so grateful to them as well as to my Divine Creator for shower of gifts.

          Thus, as we proceed with our varying trips called life, may we reflect on Isaac's words above and let us consistently remind ourselves that life's education allows us to be the best persons that we can be. As such, you and me can become agents of joy for others especially those who are deprived as a consequence of conflicts, crisis, wars, calamities etc. 

                                       

                                                                         

THE GIFT OF A CHILD

          Each day brings to us numerous experiences. My week, though not yet over, has been full of wonderful experiences and surprises. With all those lovely things happening with me and those around me, I could say that life at times depends on one's perception of every opportunity that knocks on his/her door.

          Everyday as I walk going to my workplace, I usually pass a certain park along the way. Melbourne is such a wonderful city that anybody can hang around with some of its famous parks such as The Shed Skatepark, Luna Park Melbourne, Gasworks Arts park, The Royal Botanic Melbourne and many more.

          Just this week, when I passed by the park, there were few children who were enjoying the park's facilities such as slides, thrills and spills, shaded areas, seats,  and others. As I observed them, there was that presence of the sense of innocence on them.

          They really have their own world notwithstanding what is going on with this beautiful and sometimes complicated world that we adults have. Playing with peers is such a very important element in a child's development. They should be accorded with any chance to mingle and enjoy other children as well.

          On the other hand, every adult especially those parents need to play their role positively and effectively. They should learn to express in a very concrete way their love and care for those children around them. An adult's great love is not expressed on any material possession or gift but rather this is relayed in an intimate way such as giving one's presence and affection to a dear child.

  

FAITH PRODUCES PATIENCE

           In life, this is very true that obstacles in various forms come into play one way or the other. No matter what our status in life, whether one is rich or poor,  white or black, big or small, yet trials still come along the way. Wealth is never an assurance that one will be fully blessed in life. At times, even those who seemed so deprived prove to be more contented in life compared to those who are more privileged. 

          In short, life would always be coupled with trials and it depends on one's ability to handle them that will measure how far or near they can go with those trials. From the moment that one wakes up up to the point that he goes to bed, so many experiences exist along the way. One could not just evade situations that bring challenges and hardships. Neither that he can just turns away from them. The best possible way to handle them is to welcome and consider them as possible resources of growing up and developing more one's patience in life.

          On the other hand, being patient will enable each one to deal with various situations and people. However when one is faced with a difficult situation, it is then that this patience is put into test.  Various ways to deal with a difficult situations come in expectedly and unexpectedly. Some of the ways to deal with such situations are:

1. Don't let any trial to rule over one's life.

2. Step back and look at the whole picture objectively.

3. Recognize all points both positive vs negative.

4. Enumerate components at hand that can be of immediate assistance.

5. Enumerate other components outside of oneself and check if they can be made available at hand.

6. Pray for God's guidance before implementing concrete steps to deal with the difficult situation.

7. Accept responsibility for all outcome.

SHARING THE GIFT OF LIFE

          Today as my loved one celebrates her birthday, I am with her as she embraces her creator's goodness in bringing another chapter to her life. Indeed, life is the most precious gift that we all received from God. 

               Everyday we are endowed with situations in which we can share this gift of life with others. It is not just on birthdays that we must realize life's value....we need to inculcate in our minds that everyday is always a reminder for us to treasure and get hold of this gift.

Moreover, I salute those who are seemed to be deprived in life in terms of capabilities, those who are differently abled, those who are denied of certain senses like that of seeing and hearing, yet in the midst of their predicaments they are still projecting how precious life is. Even if many are feeling hurt and helpless in those situations yet there are many also who emerge triumphant of such deprivation and they are the ones who serve as models for all to strive the more.

          On the other hand, we are surrounded by people, events, situations and others that will aid us in holding on to what is ideal in life. We have different goals and directions, we own separate ways, we carry different burdens yet we are on the same journey that is towards the fulfillment of our life. We all aim for happiness and contentment. Yet many instances in our life can tell us that it is not all joy that we experience everyday. As life goes on, we continue to struggle and fall down yet what counts the most is that we continue to get up and survive each day believing that  we can get over the situation and emerge as better persons.

          To reiterate, I celebrate the joy of my beloved on her memorable moment this day and I am with her in extending gratitude to our Divine Creator for all goodness shared day by day most notably the gift of LIFE. 

  

ANOTHER WEEK.....ANOTHER REASON TO SAY "THANK YOU"

          It has been more than a week that I posted my last entry on this blog. Anyway, this week has been another wonderful one for me. Bountiful blessings and rich experiences ushered me to strengthen further my belief that life is such a treasure. This week's unique experiences added colors to my life's chapter. Somehow some may perhaps tend to be monotonous however personally,  every single experience plays a unique role to my self discovery. Indeed this journey called life is a never ending one. It goes beyond time. No two experiences are exactly alike  from each other.

          For all those reasons, I could declare that I am so grateful for this week's events since they enabled me to appreciate the more what is life. On the other hand, even my own work experiences as well were deeply appreciated for they allow me to survive day by day. Without my job, I could never support my self and my family.  

          Consequently giving the best of my ability in every job that I perform is a daily goal. I make it a point that quality and elegance will always be a part of my work attributes. Committing any error in my daily performance has no room since in the whole production process, I serve as the starting point. If I don't do it perfectly, then the rest of our production will suffer. 

          Meanwhile my experiences at home were all noteworthy and special as well.  Those times of bonding with my dearest wife were extremely delightful moments. My wife and my kid are my main reasons why this life becomes so meaningful everyday. All my efforts and dreams are geared towards their welfare and happiness. Seeing them happy everyday accorded me great satisfaction and meaning for they are source of strength.

          On the other hand, the people I interacted this week also allowed me to share myself and everything with others. After all, I believe that life is sharing and extending my self with others is my joy. That becomes another reason for my sense of self- fulfillment---- knowing that everyday I become an instrument for others to realize that life is such a wonderful journey. 

A GRACE-FILLED WEEK

          This week has been a week full of blessings for me. Indeed God has been so generous to me and to my loved ones. With all such goodness, the more that I was able to affirm my faith in Him that He is such a loving and a very patient God. As human as I am, there were several shortcomings this week yet I was also conscious and tried to make ammends for them.  I could not count with my fingers  how many people whom I interacted with within the week however one thing for sure is  that I am able to see God's goodness through them. 

          In other words, they became God's living instruments to concretize my relationship with Him. Personally , other people can raise questions such as the following:  

Where was God in the midst of these world's events like the crisis and war in certain places?

Where was God when there were bushfires, earthquake and other calamities?

Where was God when no new plaque swept away the human race?

Where was God when millions of babies born in the whole world?

          Truly we can have countless questions in our minds and hearts yet what is very  clear with me is that I have experienced God in concrete moments throughout the week. Consequently I had no single doubt of His presence. Nevertheless I can pinpoint instances this week that I have witnessed His goodness and patience. And I know that He sent His messages through this week's life's events so as to constantly invite me to self repentance. However in  my realization that I am an underserving sinner, what came out as a consolation is the reality that God's great embrace is present and patiently waiting for me to come back to His fold. 

          Finally, the presence and love coming from my most treasured possessions - my wife and my little boy Kurt- reinforced this faith and love of God in my life. 

REMEMBERING in our HEARTS OUR LOVED ONES

        Significant people are ones who can give us comfort and strength when things are getting rough and tough...when everything seems so blurred, they come to our rescue and offer us a sense of perspective. Thus, it is but fitting to remember them always in our hearts including those who are away from us anymore-our faithful departed.

          Their memories and legacy will constantly remind us of their presence. They are merely physically absent from us yet their examples and good deeds guide us in choosing what is best for us. We always have 24 hours in a day and how great it is when we are appropriate a part of these 24 hours to offer our prayers for these significant people for they would always be present in our life.

NATURE is GOD's manifestation of HIS great LOVE for mankind...

          Physically absent yet their love would always be our source of inspiration. I remember concretely  my mother who died many years ago. Ever since I  was  a kid, she was my mentor in my prayer life. She everyday initiated us into prayer by reciting the holy rosary. Every Sunday is always a day of obligation. When everybody seemed to be enjoying their rest on Sundays, she constantly became the first person to wake us all up and prepared ourselves for mass.

          Hence, I offer my daily prayers for my beloved Mama and for other faithful departed and this allows me to continue my connections with them. Do you also keep in your hearts and prayers your own departed loved ones?...

         Life as it is is such an excellent gift from HIM above. Everyday I wake up, I always see to it that the first thing that I will do is to thank GOD for each day's blessings. Just the very fact that I am able to wake up together with my wife brings so much color to my day.

            And this week, I have received so many great endowments from HIM above. Almost every day, me and my wife have the chance to videochat with our angel Kurt back home. Much to our great joy, the opportunity to witness the activities of our boy ranging from his effort to utter words though he is still incapable to do it, his effort to walk little by little and sometimes he attempts to run as if he can do it....his playing time with his cousins and other loved ones who are as well feeling blessed by his presence...all of these and his other activities transmit to us a very positive energy.

          The gift of life and love as well coming from my better half is another reason that makes my week such a wonderful one. She is so loving, caring, and attentive to my needs as a husband, a friend, and as a companion. Such a young woman, she carries with her a very positive energy that is also so contagious thus bestowing on me such positive energy in performing my daily tasks. There is no greater love a person can give to his/her partner than sacrificing his/her own happiness for the sake of the other. And she is willing to do that for me as her husband. And I thank you my LORD for such a blessing.

          Another blessing that comes to me this week is the gift of friendship from people who become part of my life and journey. My friends from the community, those who are my mates in my work, and even my e-friends----these people are essential to me since they give me strength and positive energy to move on with all my daily endeavors. Furthermore, they lighten up  my load when things go wrong and turn as personal challenges. 

          With all these gifts above, I could say that there is always a reason for me to be happy everyday in my life. With the desire to share these to others, it is my constant prayer that we will appreciate everything that GOD has showered on us.

Well, those sounds weigh more than a thousand word, It's the sound of life!

It signifies that we are ready to face the world...

Have you ever count the number of sounds that you've made from the moment you were born?

Try to imagine the sound of breathing, the sound of your heartbeat...

Have you thank God for that?

Life is a journey that we have to survive step by step...
