Sharing Some Kindergarten Experiences of My Child

As my child ended his pre- school experiences in his centre, as one of those parents watching the journey of these four year old kids, I was also filled with pride, extreme joy, gratitude and satisfaction  as my child finished his kindergarten days.

As a parent, it is my joy to share some of the highlights of my kid's journey this year. One of those activities on which the children enjoyed so much was their exploration of the writing table area. It was on this activity that they made learnings and fun on letters and on frequency words.

What was also striking in their journey was the using of the choice self and also to be respectful on how to care for the equipment. The Centre also has a dramatic play area and the kids had the chance to explore it. Then later on this year, they had some Christmas focused activities and just by watching a part of these activities in school, I had no doubt that indeed, the kids had a great time and many moments of bonding with each other.

Hence, it is with so much joy that I express my gratitude to all the staff of the pre- school of my son and with this opportunity, for sure they became instruments in moulding the character of my son and the other kids.

The Triumph of Good Over Evil

Just last night, I watched a film entitled " A Lonely Place To Die" and I enjoyed the film from the very beginning until the end. Sharing with you a short summary of the movie, it tells about a group of climbers who made a climb in a mountain somewhere in Scottish Highlands. While on their journey, they uncovered a buried girl who was kidnapped by the bad guys.

Anyway the movie tells us the struggle between good over evil. While the story continued to develop, there is always that element of surprises when it comes to the tug of war between these two opposing elements. Although some scenes of the movie can be considered "surprising" like when the main character Allison was hit by a rock on the face and fell hard to the ground, I was expecting her to be gravely wounded or immobilised due to the extreme height plus her being a woman however, there you can find her standing, swimming and running as if nothing serious happened to her.

Anyway, I leave that to the critical eyes of the other viewers of the film and somehow, I will focus on the triumph of good over evil. Yes it is very true that these two are constantly present in our world and even in ourselves. What holds us to be stronger in the face of life's evils is the faith that we have in ourselves and in others. On the other hand, I believe that it is innate in us to be good. Devoid of any excuses, yes it is true that we could never be perfect everyday and we continue to succumb to the demands of our flesh and of our wants but somehow due to our higher capacity most notably our intelligence, we are able then to triumph over the sins and evils of this world.

May we continue then to allow ourselves to be bringers of "good" to others. Let our light shine on ourselves and on others.

3 Top Tips for Keeping Your Carpet Looking Great

Author: Isabell Austin

Quality carpeting is a major investment which requires taking care of in order to keep your carpet looking good and lasting for years. If you wish to save on costs of having to replace your carpet after only a few years, read on for 3 top tips to keeping your carpet looking great.

1: Vacuum Regularly.

Even if your carpet looks clean, dirt and debris will be deposited into the fibers of your carpeting. Over time this dirt and debris will become engrained deep within the fibers of the carpet, making the dirt particles harder to remove. To prevent dirt and debris from being embedded into the carpet, make sure that you schedule regular vacuuming of the carpet, even if the carpet does not look dirty. Also make sure to move furniture in order to give the carpet a thorough vacuuming. If you notice any depressions in the carpet from the furniture place upon it, use an ice cube over the depression in a fluffing motion in order to raise the carpeting up. Always place the furniture slightly back from the original depressions, in order for the depressed area to recover fully.

2: Keep it Clean

Even with regular vacuuming; your carpet will retain some dirt. In order to resolve this, make sure to have your carpet professionally cleaned at least a couple of times a year. Professional cleaning will not only make your carpet look good, it will increase the lifespan of the carpet. Professional cleaning companies will be well trained and experienced in carpets of various materials and colors, and can work out the best cleaning method to bring your carpet back to looking new. Carpet cleaning services can also deal with upholstery cleaning at the same time, if you should require it. You could of course always choose to deep clean your carpet yourself, but keep in mind that any incorrect use of solutions or techniques could lead to your carpet being damaged.

3: Treat Stains Immediately.

Stains and spills should be removed right away in order to prevent them from becoming more difficult to remove later on. Stains which are left on a carpet for a long time may end up resulting in a permanently damaged and stained area. Treat the spill or stain with a stain removal product suitable for the stain and your carpet, and consider using gentler methods instead, such as baking soda or soapy water. Consider having products and solutions on hand for typical stains and spills, so that if an accident does occur, you will know how to take care of it quickly and efficiently.

Note: In order to reduce dirt, debris and staining in the first place, consider asking your family and your visitors to remove their shoes before entering your home. You could always have slippers on hand for visitors instead. In this way you will cut down on the amount of dirt that enters your home. If you have any pets, make sure to clean their paws each time they have been out, as this will also help cut down on the amount of dirt that enters your home and onto your carpeting.

Guest Post: What is More Important? Advancement or Man's Basic Needs?

Few people believe that space programmes would give benefit to any particular country. This is when the government supports it by allocating a budget on space exploration. However, many argued that cutting the budget from public funds for space research is not ideal.

Although scientists believe that these studies would help the country in the long run but in my opinion, there are factors that need to be considered first. These factors are economic needs and education needs which are fundamental priorities by the government than space research.

The economic needs simplify the needs of the society especially the individuals. There is a basic part of necessity which the people need to get. That is to gain the support from the government by providing them their food, shelter, health medications and good facilities for sports. This is one of the two important reasons why I believe that the government should inculcate on its mind the priority of the people.

Moreover, education is a vital part in the success of a person's life. To become successful, one must earn a degree. For some students, it is a problem to go to university and this is a good opportunity for the government to help those less fortunate ones in gaining degree.

Thus, the government's money spending on the economic as well as education needs is more practical. I reiterate my stand that funds should be spent wisely by the government on dealing with problems on this earth instead of using them first on space research.
